Blaze 4.0: Empowering Voices, Inspiring Minds

Blaze 4.0, hosted by Women Techmakers Kolachi in partnership with GDG Kolachi, COLABS , Pakistani Women in Computing (PWiC) , CodeGirls , SheCan , NIC Karachi, and CaterpillHERs , was nothing short of a groundbreaking event that brought together a diverse group of tech enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, and industry experts. Held at the vibrant DigitalOcean within the COLABS coworking space, the event served as an incredible platform for sharing knowledge, learning, and networking.

A Stellar Lineup of Guest Speakers

The event was graced by some truly remarkable guest speakers, each bringing their unique expertise and passion to the stage. Mehwish Salman Ali the award-winning entrepreneur, delivered an inspiring talk about her journey, challenges, and the lessons she’s learned as an entrepreneur. Her journey, including speaking at TEDx, motivated many attendees to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams.

Next, Ms. Vladimira Briestenska an angel investor, and the founder of NEEM shared her insights on the world of technoprenership in Pakistan, and the importance of fostering innovation, especially in the tech space. Her session was particularly insightful for those interested in understanding the mindset of an investor and how to approach the world of startups.

Another incredible speaker was Hareem Farrukh a rising star in AI and ML in Karachi and co-lead of PWiC. Her talk on the role of AI in today’s world, coupled with her journey, was not just inspiring but also highly educational, showing attendees the endless possibilities in the world of technology.

Syeda Zainab Fatima also took the stage, addressing the crucial topic of career transitions and imposter syndrome. She shared personal experiences and valuable strategies for overcoming obstacles and embracing new career opportunities, reminding us that the journey is just as important as the destination.

The Power of Data and Design

Youza Khan , a UX designer, brought a thought-provoking session on the importance of data in design. She highlighted a critical point: "When women are invisible in data, they are invisible in design." In countries like Pakistan, where women often lack visibility in both data and design, her words struck a chord. Youza’s session was a call to action, urging the tech community to be more inclusive and mindful in their designs and data usage.

Farah Mehboob, founder of Valider and the only Pakistani woman to be listed on the United Nations’ Hall of Fame for Information Security, also shared her powerful insights. As an AI entrepreneur, Farah discussed the responsible use of the internet and cybersecurity, emphasizing how we must create safer digital spaces for everyone. Her session was an eye-opener for many, especially in the context of internet safety and cybersecurity in Pakistan.

Faiza Yousuf An incredible software engineer, the veteran in our field, I have always been inspired by her. And once again had a chance to learn from her. She is the strongest role model for any girl in tech.

@Haziqa farooq an AI/ML engineer and one of the event organizers, discussed the optimization of AI for vision. Her talk was a deep dive into the potential of AI and how its applications can revolutionize fields like healthcare, security, and beyond. As both a speaker and organizer, Haziqa's contributions enriched the event in a big way.

Organizers Who Made It Happen

Blaze 4.0 wouldn’t have been the success it was without the hard work and dedication of the amazing organizing team. Danella Patrick , Fiza, Hassam Jawed , Aaqib Sayed , and Hafiz Abdul Munim and many more played crucial roles in bringing this incredible event to life. Their efforts ensured that every aspect of Blaze 4.0 ran seamlessly, from the sessions to the networking activities.

Haziqa Farooq also deserves a special mention, as she was not only a guest speaker but also a key organizer, balancing both roles with grace. The teamwork and effort put into making this event memorable were evident throughout the day.

A Creative, Collaborative Space

Blaze 4.0 was not just about speeches and panel discussions; it was an event designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and networking.
